Firefox 4 scrolling & tab change lag

If you encounter some lagging issue upon scrolling a page or switching tabs in Firefox 4, try to disable the hardware acceleration(Firefox -> Options -> Advanced -> General)

    Brilliant, switched off ‘use hardware acceleration’ and tab switching is much faster!

    That seems to have done it for me, too. Lots of other suggestions about disabling add-ons made no difference in a suddenly laggy Firefox 4.0.1 on a Windows XP machine, where I am using both my laptop screen and an external monitor. Turning off hardware acceleration seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks!

    Im using FireFox 7 on my brand new Dell XPS and the lagging tabs were driving me nuts! Since my desktop didnt have the same issues.
